Dear NBNA Chapter President,

The Nominating Committee seeks candidates for the 2016 NBNA Election. The goal of this committee is to present to the NBNA membership a strong and complete slate. Applications can be obtained from the NBNA Office by contacting info@nbna.org or 301-589-3200. Qualified and interested members should complete and return their completed application to the NBNA Office at 2016nbnaelections@nbna.org and to the Nominating Committee chair at bessietrammell@yahoo.com by April 15, 2016.

We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated evidence of having implemented the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the National Black Nurses Association, Inc. on a local, national or international level. Except for the Student Representative, all candidates must have attended three (3) NBNA Conferences in the last five (5) years including the previous year's conference. In the even numbered years the first vice president, second vice president, treasurer, three (3) members-at-large to the Board of Directors, a student representative, and three (3) members of the Nominating Committee are to be elected. Each term of office is two years, three years for members-at-large, except the student representative who is elected for one year.

Great care should be taken in choosing members for leadership within the organization. The selected individuals should be well qualified, hard working, representative of the organization and familiar with both membership and the organization's needs. We invite our chapters to search within your ranks for proven to task individuals; those individuals who have demonstrated, integrity, organizational leadership, have administrative experience, evidence of participation in community activities, and flexibility in work enabling him/her to attend board meetings.
