Position Description

Camp Alsing is a sleepaway summer camp for kids ages 9-17 with high-functioning autism and other social challenges.  We have a collaborative, team-oriented environment and we seek an experienced RN to oversee our health clinic onsite this summer.  

This person would partner and oversee a staff of 1-2 additional nurses in supporting children and staff in a summer camp program. This position works closely with the Camp Director and Clinical Directors to provide a safe, supportive environment for our campers. Consulting physician available as needed.

Our camp hosts approximately 35 campers and 20 staff per session.  COVID protocols strictly adhered to and health center director is crucial to the planning and implementation of these protocols.  We have an incredible group of campers and staff and hope to find a wonderful nurse to join and support us. 

Required: Licensed Registered Nurse

Dates: June 23-August 1, 2020.  Some spring planning time required as well. 

General responsibilities include, but not limited to (most responsibilites are shared with 1-2 additional nurses/EMTs): 

  • Assist camp director in planning and implementation of COVID protocols. 
  • Pass daily meds according to pre-determined schedule of each camper
  • Assess physical complaints from campers and staff relative to any illness or injury
  • Travel on weekly all-day field trips with campers and staff
  • Oversee wellness/health center at camp
  • Stay with camper/staff when ill, sleep in wellness center on site 
  • Respond to overnight illnesses or concerns, when necessary
  • Communicate with parents when necessary regarding physical health of child

 Compensation:

$750-$1500 a week, DOE and length of contract.
