We are seeking a Nurse Educator to support the nursing and medical assistant professional practice at Atrius Health.  This position will have responsibilities across the entire network with a home location at our Newton offices.

Under general direction of the Nursing Director of Clinical Education, we have multiple, temporary Nurse Educator positions available. The Nurse Educator (temporary) promotes excellence in nursing and medical assistant practices by functioning as a clinical/educational resource to staff.  This position has the possibility of converting to a regular role. This position encompasses teaching in orientation, annual competency validation, continuing education, professional development, and performance excellence. The person in this role collaborates with the appropriate operations, nursing leadership and staff to identify medical assistant and nursing learning needs, and develops educational/experiential programs. The Nurse Educator actively participates in the development of annual core and specialty competencies in partnership with service-line triads, and conducts train the trainer sessions with Nurse Administrators, Nurse Managers, and supervisors for annual decentralized competency validation. The person in this role will also mentor/assist staff participation in performance improvement and/or research studies to enhance patient outcomes and /or organizational efficiency.

Education/Licenses/Certifications: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing is required; applicants currently enrolled in a Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field may be considered with degree completion within 36 months of hire.
  • Certified Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse Specialist certification, or Nurse Professional Development certification preferred.
  • Must be eligible and willing to sit for one of the above certifications within four years of hire.
  • Current license to practice professional nursing – RN or APRN in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated clinical experience and skill in relevant nursing area required.
  • Demonstrated experience in a teaching or educational capacity.
  • Previous experience in education, curriculum development, competency development and adult learning evaluation, as well as quality improvement preferred.
