Position Description

**Up to $25k Sign-On Bonus**
United Health Services, the largest and most comprehensive provider of healthcare services in upstate New York's Southern Tier, is hiring a Staff Registered Nurse, Orthopedics to join our team at Binghamton General Hospital. The Orthopedic unit is a steady, collaborative environment. Dealing with a range of orthopedic surgeries, there’s always something new coming in!

Schedule:

Multiple shifts available

8 hour shifts; Monday – Friday, every 3rd Weekend.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Admit and prep patients for orthopedic procedures
  • Keeping a close eye on vital signs and responding when needed
  • Administering medications and providing pain management
  • Discharging patients post procedure

Qualifications:

  • A valid RN license
  • Bedside nursing experience
  • ACLS preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

  • A graduate of an accredited school of Nursing

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing
  • Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting


License/Certification

Minimum Required:

  • Current NYS RN License

Preferred:

  • Professional certification in a related nursing specialty
  • Relevant skills certification (i.e., ACLS, PALS, TNCC) as required by home unit assigned.

  • Work is performed in an office environment and patient care areas which require working in proximity to other employees and patients.
  • Rooms are air conditioned and heated.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending and lifting.
  • Fast paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
  • PPE (Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, and Gloves) as required by Infection Control policies
