Position: Registered Nurse

Location: Labor & Delivery

Schedule: 36 Hours/week, Day/Night rotation

ABOUT THE LABOR & DELIVERY DEPARTMENT AT St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center:

Registered Nurses in Labor and Delivery provide the highest quality of care to our diverse patient population. Our L&D team has a strong quality improvement focus and our nurses are always developing unique solutions for their patients.

Position Summary

As a Labor and Delivery nurse you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional nursing care in the, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
  • Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
  • Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
  • Update and manage patient records
  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information
  • Follow guidelines and policies established by SEMC’s nursing organization
  • Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

Job Requirements

  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
  • Certification in basic life support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification required within 90 days of hire (offered during orientation)
  • Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Intermediate or Advance Certification required within 8 weeks of hire.
  • 1 year experience Labor and Delivery required
  • Experience with electronic health record preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical ability to meet job responsibilities.
  • Basic computer proficiency.
  • Fluency in another language a plus.
