Position Description

Position: Registered Nurse,

Location: St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Brighton, MA

Position Summary

As an RN on S7E, our Surgical/ Stepdown (PCC level) unit, you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be able to deliver excellent care to surgical patients from a variety of specialties including orthopedics, vascular medicine, thoracic, bariatric and complex medicine. S7E is a 30-bed unit with a skilled nursing staff, and candidates will work with our educators to ensure a robust orientation and training with a preceptor to ensure that you are prepared to optimal patient care.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver nursing care in the S7E unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
  • Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
  • Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
  • Update and manage patient records
  • Enter and interpret computerized data/information
  • Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization
  • Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

Job Requirements

  • Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • PCC certification preferred, training for PCC education will be offered as part of a plan for professional growth.
  • Previous Med-Surg experience preferred.
  • Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
